THE OZ CORNER

March 14, 2012

Here is the Oz corner of my library. Left to right are Kabumpo in Oz, The Wonder City of Oz, The Gnome King of Oz, The Shaggy Man of Oz, Lucky Bucky in Oz, The Emerald City of Oz, The Royal Book of Oz, The Road to Oz, and The Annotated Wizard of Oz. Stacked on top are All Things Oz, Glinda of Oz, and Finding Oz. The oldest edition, The Road to Oz, is from 1909. My favorite Oz book as of right now this minute is The Gnome King of Oz by Ruth Plumly Thompson. My favorite as a boy was Lucky Bucky in Oz. I’m very glad to still have these books from my childhood. My own fantasy world of Boad owes more than a little bit of thanks to L. Frank Baum, Ruth Plumly Thompson, and Oz illustrator John R. Neill.
